Innovation for Womens Economic Empowerment in Ghana

Posted by Danielle Andres on April 27, 2018 in Research Funding

Global Affairs Canada (GAC) has issued a call for preliminary proposals for a new initiative, “Innovation for Women’s Economic Empowerment in Ghana”. This initiative will be funded to a total of $30M over 5 years.

This call focuses on proposals for projects that will result in enhanced economic empowerment, well-being and inclusive economic growth for women in Ghana.

Applicant organizations must present project proposals which:

  • have a duration of least three years and not more than five years;
  • present budgets ranging from $5 million to $10 million;
  • take place in Ghana. Preference will be given to preliminary proposals that include a Ghanaian partner.

Applications for preliminary proposals are being accepted at this time.  The most promising preliminary proposals will be invited to submit full proposals later this year.

Note that Global Affairs Canada will accept only one application from any given applicant organization, for this competition.  Depending on the level of interest from Dalhousie personnel, an internal selection process may therefore need to be put into place well in advance of the competition deadline.  In consequence, any Dalhousie faculty members interested in this opportunity are asked to contact the International Research Manager (jennifer.morawiecki@dal.ca) as soon as possible, and not later than Monday 7 May, to register their interest and obtain more information and support in developing an application.

Deadline: 6 June 2018 (deadline to register interest is 7 May)
