Saving Brains: Unlocking the Potential for Development

Posted by Suman Jha on August 21, 2017 in Research Funding

Grand Challenges Canada is currently seeking proposals from researchers, both in low- and middle-income countries and in Canada, for products, services and implementation models that protect and nurture early brain development in a sustainable manner.

Proposed solutions must be relevant to poor, marginalized populations in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). All projects must be implemented in eligible LMICs.

The current round of this competition will provide $250,000 in seed grants, with the possibility of additional scale–up grants. Projects are expected to be of 24 months’ duration. Note that Canadian applicants must include LMIC co-leads among their teams.

Full details of this competition can be found online here.

Any Dalhousie researcher intending to apply is asked to contact the International Research Facilitator (jennifer.morawiecki@dal.ca), for support in preparing an application.

Deadline: 11 October 2017
