Transformational Research 2017

Funding (maximum of $1,500,000 over up to 3 years) for high-potential translational research projects with excellent preliminary data.

International Fellowships in Neuroscience 2017

Funding (maximum of $60,000 per year per student) for University of Toronto PhD students to receive international training in world-renowned laboratories.
     
  Application deadline: March 1, 2017

 Postdoctoral Scholars 2017  *NEW*
Funding (£57,000 per year for 2 years) to support top-tier Canadian postdoctoral scholars by providing salary support for international training at the University of Oxford and affiliation with Merton College.

Upcoming

Canada: Rapid Response 2017

Seed funding to support novel, high-risk, high-reward translational research that accelerates the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging.

Now with an increased award amount of up to $200,000 per project, for up to 18 months.

Program will run multiple application calls per year, alternating between 2 different disease groups: AD-related and PD-related diseases.

Funding for: PD-related diseases (PD, PSP, DLB, MSA, vascular contributions to these disease, and prodromes)
       Applications open: February 28, 2017
       Applications deadline: May 9, 2017
       Award announcement: October 2017

Funding for:  AD-related diseases (AD, FTD, MCI, vascular contributions to these diseases, and prodromes)
       Applications open: May 4, 2017
       Applications deadline: July 5, 2017
       Award announcement: December 2017

UK & Ireland

Novel Biomarkers 2017 *NEW*
Funding for high-risk, high-reward, translational research projects on understudied and/or underfunded biomarkers in clinical samples/data or patients. Up to £333,000 (UK) or €390,000 (Ireland) is available per project, over up to 3 years.

Weston Brain Institute Outstanding Achievement Award 2017
£25,000 prize for an exceptional UK investigator who has made significant advances in the field of translational research in accelerating the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging.
