NSHRF Catalyst Grant

Posted by Suman Jha on February 21, 2017 in Research Funding

Dear Colleagues.

In response to the impact that low national funding competition success rates has had on Nova Scotia’s health researchers, NSHRF requested targeted support from the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness (DHW). The leadership of Minister Glavine and department leaders has resulted in a new one-time funding opportunity, the NSHRF Catalyst Grant. We are now accepting applications for the Catalyst Grant. We realize this isn’t a lot of notice but the funding was just confirmed on Friday and we must move quickly to give you access to this opportunity.

The objective of this grant is to provide funding to enable Nova Scotia health researchers to conduct work that will strengthen a future submission to a national or international peer reviewed funding competition.  The required outcome of the work is the submission of an application to a national or international funding competition within 12 months of the end of the Grant.

The DHW has identified the following priority areas for this funding opportunity:
1) Primary care;
2) Chronic disease management; and
3) Mental health and addictions.

Complete details for this funding opportunity are now available on the NSHRF website here.

The deadline for applications is March 10th, 2017 @ 2:00pm AST. Decisions will be available by March 30th, 2017. Please share among your networks and contact me if you have any questions or if anyone requires application support.

Kind Regards.
Leslie
