2019 Junior Fellows Appointments
The MacEachen Institute for Public Policy and Governance at Dalhousie University invites applications for Junior Fellows commencing this fall.
| Eligible: | Graduate students enrolled in a thesis-based Masters, PhD or Post-Doctoral program or equivalent at Dalhousie University |
| Research area: | Research area must be policy-related and connected to one of the MacEachen Institute’s research themes. |
| Appointment term: | Appointments will be for a 9-month term, beginning September 1, 2019 and ending June 15, 2020. |
| Award / Support: | $1,250 stipend for travel to a conference and a shared desk at the MacEachen Institute |
| Expression of interest deadline: | April 30th, 2019 |
Junior Fellows are expected to contribute to the research and learning culture of the Institute and contribute to the goals and profile of the Institute in the following ways:
- Contribute to the Institute’s online and social media presence on a quarterly basis (once every three months | two pieces over the course of the appointment) by completing either a blog post, thought piece or policy brief.
- Use up to $1,250 in funding to present research at conferences, meetings or events, indicating in an appropriate manner the support of the MacEachen Institute at these events
- Participate in the life of the Institute by attending Institute events and working regularly at the Institute
- Support the Institute in its communication and promotion of activities through sharing event notices and social media content
- Provide permission to be listed on the Institute’s website

- A one-page statement indicating how your research priorities align with the Institute and its research themes and activities
- A one-page statement indicating (1) how the appointment would benefit your academic experience/research goals; (2) an outline of deliverables you would achieve in your 9-month appointment
- A writing/research sample
- A current CV
- A copy of your transcripts
