Allies Steering Committee
The Steering Committee is made up of a group of volunteers. We're a working group that, among other things, plans the Annual General Meetings, schedules training and workshops on campus, serves as spokespersons at campus events, takes an interest in Orientation Week activities, and facilitates communication with Allies.
Our mission iis to support the Rainbow students, staff, and faculty at Dalhousie by creating a community that welcomes and respects their diversity. A listing of the expectations of the Committee is available by clicking here.
- provide ongoing education of group members
- educate the broader campus community
- advocate for a safe and open environment
- create a network of people and resources
- assess campus attitudes toward Rainbow issues and people
Committee members - TBD
The committee meets monthly for approximately an hour, usually on the second Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. in Student Services meeting room in the Killam Library. All Allies at Dal are invited to participate in the Steering Committee and attend any of our meetings. Members of the Dalhousie community who wish to present their research or outreach to the LGBTQ+ community are encouraged to contact the Allies at firstname.lastname@example.org
