The bargaining teams for the Dal Board and CUPE Local 3912 met on October 2 for a day of conciliation, however they were unable to reach an agreement.
Earlier this week, the conciliator filed a report declaring the parties at an impasse, which means that the Board and CUPE are now in a 14-day waiting period. They will meet again with a conciliator on October 20. If they do not reach an agreement, a strike and/or lockout is possible.
We remain optimistic that an agreement will be reached through conciliation. More information will be shared if a labour disruption appears likely.
CUPE Local 3912 represents part-time academics along with TAs, markers and demonstrators. The collective agreement expired on August 31, 2024.
