Confirmation of DFA faculty lockout as of Wednesday, August 20, 9:30 a.m.
A message from Wanda Costen, Ph.D., Provost & Vice-President Academic
I’m writing to confirm that the University has initiated a lockout for Dalhousie Faculty Association (DFA) members, effective 9:30 a.m. today.
You can expect further communication this week on impacts on courses and programs but, for now, answers to many of your questions about the lockout can be found on the Labour Relations website.
If a lockout is resolved before fall classes begin, the term will proceed normally. If it appears disruption of fall classes is likely, we will notify you about which classes will go ahead, and which will be suspended until the lockout is resolved. Please continue to plan to arrive on campus as normal: university services will be open, residences will welcome new students on schedule, and an agreement that would end the lockout could occur quickly with little notice.
Sincerely,
Wanda Costen, Ph.D.
Provost & Vice-President Academic
