From May 28 through to June 3, Event & Conference Services at Dalhousie University will celebrate Tourism Week, an annual celebration of the tourism industry in Canada, put on by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.

Tourism Week in Canada aligns tourism organizations, businesses and other partners from across the country around a common vision: a tourism sector recognized for its contribution to the economy and the social fabric of cities and towns across the country.

“With four campuses between Halifax and Truro, Dalhousie’s own impact on the tourism industry in Nova Scotia is both strong and far-reaching”, says Lyle Quinn, manager of business development & events with Event & Conference Services. “Nova Scotia is anticipating an increase in visitors this summer, thanks in part to Canada 150 celebrations. Our team is thrilled to serve as ambassadors to our amazing province and welcome overnight guests this spring and summer in both Halifax and Truro”, says Quinn.

To celebrate Tourism Week on campus, Event & Conference Services staff members will be featured on a variety of social media profiles, where they will explain what they love most about the tourism industry. Be sure to follow along:
