Workshop

Facilitators: Susan Joudrey & Chad O'Brien
October 11, 2018, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
B400, Killam Library

Learning outcomes guide course development and promote programmatic cohesion, but we’re often unsure how to identify and articulate them for our courses. You may be wondering, “Is there a difference between outcomes and objectives?” “Why should the course intentions be communicated as learning outcomes?”

This session focuses on how to create learning outcomes and course alignment. By considering the learning requirements of the students in their course(s), attendees will explore outcomes-writing strategies and develop content alignment. By attending this session, participants will be prepared to:

  • Identify the learning outcomes for their course(s)
  • Articulate learning outcomes in ways that focus on the learner
  • Apply alignment strategies for their course(s)
  • Discover useful applications for learning outcomes in both teaching and course design
