Offered through Student Health & Wellness, the Stay Connected Mental Health Project gives Dalhousie and King’s students in Halifax the opportunity to meet with other students who can provide them with safe mental health advice and support. One of these on-campus peer support workers is fourth year Medical Sciences student Tanaka Shumba.

For many cancer patients, going through radiation therapy can be an incredibly stressful and time-consuming process. Dalhousie’s Dr. James Robar wants to change that by providing health practitioners with an in-house tool that improves the accuracy and efficiency of this treatment, while making it a more comfortable experience for the patient.

Andy Fillmore, Member of Parliament for Halifax, was on campus to announce $5.7 million in funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) through scholarships, fellowships, and grants for researchers at four Halifax post-secondary institutions, including Dalhousie. Among the recipients is Dr. Natalie Rosen of Psychology and Neuroscience.

Six years ago, when he began exploring university options, Jordan Boudreau knew he wanted to work toward a medical degree but he wasn’t sure how he wanted to get there. Jordan eventually chose the undergraduate science program at Dal. In his first year, he was introduced to neuroscience and quickly became hooked. Now, he's a second year medical student that makes time for giving back.

The MacLennan Society recognizes Dalhousie’s most loyal donors and is aptly named after Rod MacLennan (BSc’60, LLD’98) – the first alumnus to reach 50 years of consecutive giving. The Truro native and former Scotsburn executive first began giving to Dal as a student and has continued throughout his life.
