Student Surveys

Canadian University Survey Consortium (CUSC)

Do you feel welcome at Dalhousie? Supported?

Help improve the Dalhousie student experience by taking the Canadian University Survey Consortium (CUSC) First Year Student Survey between February 25 and April 5, 2019

What is CUSC?

The Canadian University Survey Consortium (CUSC) is an organization comprised of universities from across Canada that confidentially surveys students about their lives at the member universities. Dalhousie is one of over 60 Canadian institutions participating.

In the survey, you will be asked questions about:

  • Use of and satisfaction with various facilities and services
  • Experiences with faculty, including your professors
  • Your academic profile
  • How you are financing your education
  • Whether your experience has exceeded, met, or fell short of expectations
  • Your overall university experience
  • Open-ended questions such as what are your most negative/positive experiences so far

How do I fill it out?

Eligible students will receive a personalized survey invitation to their Dalhousie email on Monday, February 25, 2019.

To complete the survey, click on the link included in your email or copy and paste it into your browser. If you are asked for your survey access code, it will be the last 8 characters of the link. The survey link provided is unique to you and can only be used once.

The survey should take about 20 minutes to complete. All of your responses are confidential.

Why is it important that I fill out the survey?

The information collected from the surveys helps us learn more about our undergraduate students and your expectations and experiences related to university. The results allow us to compare the experiences of undergraduate students at Dal with those of students at other Canadian universities. More importantly, they show us what we’re doing right and what we need to improve to make the Dalhousie student experience as rich as possible.

Visit the CUSC website for more information about the survey.
