ResLife Alcohol Harm Reduction Pilot (Sept 2017)
Reminder: As stated in your Residence Code of Conduct, residences (Halifax Campus) are alcohol free from Sept. 2-11, 2017. This means that from Saturday, Sept. 2-Monday, Sept. 11, 2017 (8 a.m.) entry, possession (open or closed), storage and/or consumption of alcohol (regardless of age) will not be permitted in residence halls (with the exception of Glengary Apartments, Graduate House and LeMarchant Place). This pilot is one tactic of many as part of a broader alcohol harm reduction approach for Dalhousie.
The first week of September is packed full of activities, meeting new people and academic classes. Our goal is to support your transition to university and build a safe and welcoming community. All orientation programming has been alcohol-free for decades and this pilot aligns our residence practices with our other O’Week programs.
Students who violate the alcohol-free requirement in residence from Sept. 2-11, 2017 will fall under the Residence Code of Conduct processes. Read the full Residence Code of Conduct.
