Are you as excited as we are?!
Start on Track – Online is a module-based orientation program that you complete at your own pace. It's a great way to get a head start and prepare yourself for attending Dalhousie!
When you arrive
There two orientations that students can register for in Halifax:
Start on Track – On Campus is an orientation program for new students and their family and friends. Start on Track for international students begins on Wednesday, August 27. Start on Track for Canadian students begins on Friday, August 31. Register now.
Unable to make it to campus before our official move in day? Work through the Start on Track – Online modules and don't forget to reach out and ask questions if you have any.
The Dalhousie Student Union (DSU) also hosts O-Week for new students every year, including events like the opening Field Party, Dalympics, HFXplore, Concerts, speakers, and more. O-Week will introduce you to the campus, connect you with other students, and welcome you aboard as you kick-start your new adventure. Register now.
Orientation on the Truro campus is run by the Dalhousie Agricultural Student Association (DASA) and the Student Success Centre team. AC new student orientation is fun, informative, will connect with other students and give you the tools to make your first semester a success. Register now.
For international students
International students are invited to attend additional orientation sessions (Halifax or Truro) to help you adjust to new surroundings and get the support you need to settle in to life in Nova Scotia. It's also free! Register now (Halifax campus).
For students with disabilities
If you will be receiving accommodations due to a disability, you are encouraged to register for the Able@Dal Orientation (Halifax campus). If you are on the Truro campus, you are encouraged to visit the Student Access Supports website and reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Unable to make it to campus before our official move in day? There will be a Start on Track – Online module dedicated to accessibility services that you can complete in July.
For graduate students
The Faculty of Graduate Studies also hosts an orientation session for new graduate students. Look for an invitation in your Dalhousie email inbox!
