Services available at Studley Campus to support students' health and wellness

The Student Health & Wellness Centre (SHWC) is located in LeMarchant Place on Studley Campus.

The Student Health & Wellness Centre provides students with certified quality primary and mental health care services to promote and enhance your health and wellbeing. We have an interprofessional healthcare team, consisting of doctors, nurses, a social worker, psychologists, counsellors, a psychiatrist and health promotion experts.

Physician services include:

  • Anxiety management
  • Assessment of broken bones & sprains
  • Assessment for stitches
  • Birth control education
  • Dressing changes
  • Emergency contraception
  • Emergency first aid
  • Health form completion
  • HIV testing/education
  • LGBTQ2SIA+ health
  • Medical condition diagnosis & treatment
  • Medical exams and consultations
  • Meningitis B Vaccination
  • Mental health care
  • Obstetrical care
  • PAP smear
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Prescriptions
  • Psychiatric care (by referral)
  • Referrals to specialist care, including to see a psychiatrist
  • Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing
  • Sexual health education
  • Sports medicine
  • Stress management
  • Vasectomies

Nursing services include:

  • Routine childhood immunizations
  • Immunization review and form completion
  • Injections (allergy injections, B12, testosterone, depo-provera, lupron)
  • Routine STI testing
  • TB testing
  • Ongoing immunization series
  • Ear syringing
  • Suture/staple removal
  • Wound care
  • Dressing changes
  • Emergency contraception
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Wart treatment (for feet and hands only)

Counselling and mental health services include:

  • Same-day counselling 
  • Ongoing counselling (by referral)
  • Psychological services (by referral)

Social worker services include:

  • Assistance with navigating on- and off- campus resources 
  • Assistance coping with issues surrounding food, finances, housing, etc.
  • Stress and anxiety management (related to work, relationships, school and sleep)

Community Patients

The Student Health & Wellness Centre also provides medical and nursing services to registered community patients. Our physicians are not currently accepting new community patients into their practices. If you need a physician, please visit the Family Practice Registry.
