Services available on the Agricultural Campus to support students' health and wellness

Health Services is located on the Agricultural Campus and can be found in the Student Success Centre.

Health Services provides confidential assessments and referral services to students based on nursing assessments, provision of education, recommendation of appropriate care, provision of counselling services, evaluation of effectiveness of plans of care and referral to community resources.

Main services include:

Nursing assessments:

  • cold/flu
  • aches/pains
  • allergies
  • first aid
  • urinary tract infections (assessment & treatment)
  • sore throat/throat swabs for infection screening (assessment & treatment)
  • sexually transmitted infections – STIs (assessment & treatment)

Immunizations:

  • HPV
  • Twinrix
  • MMR (measles/mumps/rubella)
  • annual flu immunization

Sexual health counselling:

  • contraceptive methods
  • sexually transmitted infections
  • sexuality
  • birth control options/Supply birth control pill
  • supply emergency contraceptive pill (Plan B)
  • Depo provera injection(s)

Health counselling and education:

  • diet/nutrition
  • stress management healthy relationships
  • self-esteem
  • time management 
  • wellness/balance (physical, career & academic, social & cultural, financial, emotional, etc.) 

Other services:

  • blood glucose monitoring
  • blood pressure
  • pregnancy testing
  • HIV education/testing
  • STI education/testing (self-tests available)
  • injections (B12, immunizations, Depo-Provera)
  • suture removal
  • equipment loan – crutches/aerosol machine
  • stress management/relaxation
  • non-prescription medications supplied with education
  • prescription medications with education
  • plantar wart treatment
