Groups & Workshops

Dalhousie Counselling & Psychological Services offers groups as a way for students to build their confidence, self-improve, and prepare for the demands of university life and beyond.

Please Note: If the Dalhousie Halifax campus is closed (don't forget to sign up for DalAlert), groups and seminars on that day are cancelled.

This evidence-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) group is a 10 week group in which tools and skills are developed to manage anxiety. We identify and challenge thoughts/self-talk that lead to anxiety, and we review relaxation and exposure techniques. The hardest part about group therapy is often joining a group!  After the first session or two, the camaraderie of the group makes coming back easy. Email alissa.pencer@dal.ca for any questions.
