Emergency/ Urgent Situations
Students who are experiencing a crisis are encouraged to call the Mental Health Mobile Crisis Team (MHMCT) at 902-429-8167 or 1-888-429-8167. The MHMCT provides 24/7 telephone crisis intervention to all of Nova Scotia. If necessary, the MHMCT may be sent to Metro Halifax locations for assessment and response from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Dalhousie Counselling Services sets aside one urgent appointment time each day to accommodate students who require a quick response. If you or a student you know needs to be seen quickly, please call 902-494-2081 and ask for an urgent appointment - assessment may be required.
You can also contact Student Health Services by calling (902-494-2171) or coming into the clinic (1246 LeMarchant Street, 2nd floor). When you arrive, you will be referred to a nurse for triage.
