Dalhousie Gives Back
Dalhousie hopes to help share, discover and showcase new perspectives on the question “what does it mean to truly belong?” over the next year with the launch of an initiative called the Year of Belonging, one of several signature programs that will shape the university’s 200th-anniversary celebrations.
Built around a series of forums, workshops, volunteer opportunities and a legacy lecture series, the year-long program aims to expand and elevate conversations around diversity and inclusiveness at Dal and beyond by engaging the campus, alumni and the broader community in a year of discussion and action.
As part of the Days of Action initiative, #DalGivesBack student, staff, and faculty will be volunteering throughout the entire month and logging hours through the MyCareer portal.
#DalGivesBack will build on Dal’s commitment to fostering a culture grounded in diversity and inclusiveness as laid out in the university’s strategic direction and its new diversity and inclusiveness strategy.
Student Affairs staff will monitor the progress throughout the month, with a closing reception, celebrating the civic engagement in our community.
Community Day 2.0
The Week Dalhousie Gives Back!
Brought to you by Dalhousie Human Rights & Equity Services, Student Affairs, the Dalhousie Bissett Student Success Centre, the International Centre, and the Dalhousie Student Union.
On February 19 to 23, Dalhousie University and the Dalhousie Student Union are coming together to give back to the community for Community Day 2.0 (Days of Action). We are partnering with several local community non-profit organizations to offer exciting and valuable volunteer projects for all Dalhousie and King's Students to participate in during the week.
This event is *FREE* and it is a great way to meet new people, learn more about a number of non-profits across Halifax, and have a great time giving back to the community!
Transportation will be provided as well as snacks!
Each Organization has a limited number of volunteer opportunities available so space is limited!
