NOTE: Event check-in opens at 8:30 a.m., with programming beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m. To ensure a smooth start, be sure to schedule time for parking and possible traffic. Pre-registration is required.

You'll move as a group at this event, through programming designed to introduce you to the multifaceted experience available on this close-knit campus. 

The day kicks-off with a welcome from Dean Gray, followed by an introduction to academics, unique offerings, and details on where an Agriculture degree can take you. From there, we’ll shake it up with trivia and prizes, snacks and swag, and a series of panels where you can hear directly from professors, advisors, and current students. 

After that, you’ll take part in an academic, support services and student life fair, where you can lean more and ask questions. We’ll do lunch in meal hall, and you’ll have the chance to take a line dancing class or see an Engineering demo. 

We’ll wrap up the day with an enhanced tour of our campus living lab. This will include visits to the Engineering workshop, Landscape Architecture design studio, Plant Science greenhouse, residence, and Aquaculture labs. You’ll also have a chance to get up and personal with our dairy herd at the Ruminant Animal Centre.  

The university's policy for masking for students, faculty and staff will be followed at Open House.

Masks are required in all classrooms and instructional spaces.

While not strictly required, masks are also strongly recommended in all indoor spaces where physical distancing cannot be maintained.

BIOSECURITY WAIVER FORM

NOTE: If a visitor is under 19 years of age, the signature of a parent/legal guardian is required.

You're encouraged to complete this form ahead and submit As part of the event check-in process. If this is not ipossible, printed waivers will be available to complete upon arrival.

Students who attend the Truro Open House on October 29, 2022 and apply for direct-entry undergraduate admission to a Truro based program by Monday October 31, 2022 will receive priority processing from our admissions team.

Applications received from Canadian and US high school students, as well as transfer applicants and international students (who have completed high school) will be given priority in the review process.

Steps required to receive early admission

1. Complete your online application for admission* (available starting October 15, 2022).
2. Send official transcripts** (high school graduates and transfer applicants only)
3. Pay your application fee.

If you have questions about completing your undergraduate application to study at Dalhousie or wish to chat with an advisor, visit the Admissions Advising Lounge on event day. 

*Open House priority processing is being offered for direct-entry undergraduate programs only and is not available for Bachelor of Health Sciences and Bachelor of Science in Nursing applicants. 

**Current high school students in Canada who received numerical final grades for the 2021-2022 school year can self-report their grades without transcripts during the early admission period. US applicants should provide their most recent full high school transcript.  International high school students are not able to be assessed for admissions until January 2023.
