Campus Tours

Tour Options

 

Standard Campus Tour  

As part of our standard campus tour, you'll take part in an 90 minute walking tour of Studley Campus (our primary undergraduate campus), which will be led by a current student and will visit:

  • academic and administrative buildings
  • residences and dining halls
  • classrooms and labs
  • the Student Union Building (SUB) and study spaces

The tour will be followed by a 15 minute Q&A session, hosted by an advisor who will discuss academic programs, admission, scholarships, next steps and who will answer your individual questions. 

Studley campus tours are available at 10:30am and 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, and some Saturdays at noon, although capacity is limited. Please refer to our booking form for more information.

In addition to our standard campus tours, there are many ways to customize your experience on campus. You can request any of the following options when you book your tour. 

 

Customize Your Tour 

Sexton Campus tour - Engineering

Upper year engineering students study on Sexton Campus in downtown Halifax. Prospective engineering students should consider booking a tour of Sexton Campus (as the upper year portions of your program will take place on this campus) in addition to the regular campus tour. This additional tour is available Monday to Friday at 12:30 p.m and runs for approximately 45 minutes

Building tour - Community Design

Spend 30 minutes touring the Ralph M. Medjuck building and learn more about our community design program with a current student. This tour option is available Monday to Friday. Your tour time will be confirmed in your campus tour confirmation email and is subject to availability.

Standard Campus Tour  

Building tour - Nursing

Spend 45 minutes touring the Carleton campus and learn more about our nursing program with a current student. This tour option is available Monday to Friday. Your tour time will be confirmed in your campus tour confirmation email and is subject to availability.

Tour the athletic centre (Dalplex)

As part of your tour, you'll receive a pass to the athletic centre where you can enjoy a self-guided tour and use the facilities at your convenience. A more in-depth tour of the Dalplex is available upon request.

Eat in a dining hall

Following your tour, you'll receive an access pass for a complimentary meal in one of our dining halls. You'll enjoy an all you care to eat meal including vegetarian options and options for those with dietary restrictions and allergies.

Visit the Bookstore

If you'd like to pick up a souvenir to remember your visit to campus, the Bookstore is next door to the campus tour office. As a campus tour guest, you'll receive 10% off Dalhousie-branded merchandise with the access pass provided at the end of the tour.

Self-Guided Tours

Unable to join us during one of our tour times? Self-guided tours can be picked up from the Welcome Centre between 8:30am and 4:30pm from Monday to Friday. Alternatively, you can download electronic copies of our self-guided tours for the following campuses:

  • Studley (main undergraduate)
  • Sexton (upper-year Engineering and Architecture & Planning)
  • Carleton (Health Professions)
 

Group tours

A campus tour is a great way for school groups, sports teams and youth community organizations to learn more about university and their options at Dal. If you're interested in booking a group tour please email campus.tours@dal.ca

Throughout the year, there are special on-campus events for prospective students like our annual open house and faculty specific preview days. Take a look at our upcoming events and consider planning your trip around one to get more program-specific information or experience campus from another perspective.
