Future studies

You might realize when you graduate from Dal with your degree in Marine Biology that you’re keen to go further into the subject. With an Honours BSc in Marine Biology, you’ll be qualified to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Marine Biology, Oceanography, Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Earth Sciences, or Environmental Science.

Along the way, you might also discover a particular career interest that requires additional education, such as marine law or marine affairs.

Either way, there are a number of options for future study that might appeal to your interests:

  • Master of Science (MSc)
  • Master of Resource and Environmental Management (MREM)
  • Master of Marine Management (MMM)
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
  • Juris Doctor (JD, or Bachelor of Laws, in Marine and Environmental Law)
