Practicums

Learn in the real world

In your final year of the Kinesiology program, you'll work at an outside organization under the supervision of a qualified mentor. While a minimum of 25 hours must be spent on the practicum, many students put in many more hours on site. Additional hours are spent doing off-site “homework,” as well as additional reports and projects required for their portfolios.

By getting outside the classroom, you'll be able to gain practical work experience, and put the theory and skills you learn in the classroom to use in a professional setting.

Our students have completed their practicums under the supervision of these types of professionals:

  • Kinesiologists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Chiropractors
  • Occupational therapists
  • Osteopaths
  • Naturopaths
  • Physicians
