What will I learn?
The Animal Science major is designed to give students the scientific foundation required to understand and work with animals in a variety of contexts. That foundation begins with the first-year courses that form the BSc (Agriculture) core and continues in second, third and fourth year with more specialized courses.
Required courses for an Animal Science major include Mammalian Physiology, Animal Breeding, Biochemistry and Genetics. In third or fourth year, Animal Science majors have the opportunity to select and conduct their own research project.
Combined with Humanities and Social Science electives, these courses are the basis of a well-rounded education that prepares students for a wide range of careers.
