Clarence is currently pursuing a project entitled, Istambays (On Standbys): Filipino Children in the Period of Crises and Contingencies (1970-2013), which examines the life course of a sample of Filipino cohort born between 1970 and 1979 focusing on the experiences of “waiting for employment”, popularly known in the Philippines as the “istambay” (on standby) phenomenon.
