This award is presented to the full or part time student in progress or completing the MSc(OT – Post-Professional) program with the highest grade in OCCU 5020: Graduate Practicum.

Barbara O`Shea Award

This award is sponsored by alumni, faculty, and friends of Dr. Barbara O'Shea, the first Director of the School of Occupational Therapy at Dalhousie University. The award is presented annually to a student entering the first year of the MSc(OT – Post-Professional) program at Dalhousie University. Selection is based on scholarly achievement, contribution to the profession, and potential for graduate studies. Preference will be given to graduates of the Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) program, Dalhousie University.

Fred Sammons Award

This is an annual clinical tutor award which is sponsored by Mr. Fred Sammons. The Fred Sammons award is awarded to an occupational therapist who has been a clinical tutor (preceptor, etc.) with the School of Occupational Therapy and has enrolled as a full or part-time Dalhousie student in the MSc(OT – Post-Professional) Research Thesis Stream or a Dalhousie University PhD program.  Proposal approved and received ethical approval if applicable, have excellence in research design, be relevant to Atlantic Canada, related to technology and design solutions that promote health, wellbeing and inclusion in everyday life. Applicants must write a statement of 500 words or less describing how their project addresses award guidelines.

Alumni, faculty, friends, and other donors of the School of Occupational Therapy at Dalhousie University sponsor this award. Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) Second Round Allocation Scholarships

The Faculty of Graduate Studies Scholarship is awarded for one year to the full time, thesis student admitted with the highest GPA from a 4 year Bachelor program with strong achievement in research or independent study. (financial award applied to tuition fees)
