MSc(OT) - Entry Level Student
I had been told the School of Occupational Therapy was warm and welcoming and had a strong conviction to occupational justice. The opportunity to live on the East Coast coupled with my fascination of African-Canadian history drew me to Dal.
What Inspires Me?
I’m originally from a small town in Northwestern British Columbia called Kitimat. I completed my Bachelors of Science in Chemical Biology at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC. During this time I developed a strong interest in rehabilitation with a holistic approach. When I arrived at Dal I quickly realized my own beliefs for rehabilitation were found within the core values of occupational therapy. I have been inspired by many things - the opportunity to participate in The School of Occupational Therapy’s Global Health Initiatives through a fieldwork placement in Goose Bay, Labrador and being the student lead for the school’s Equity Committee are highlights.
