Student society

Representing our students

The Community Health and Epidemiology Student Society (CHESS) is a collection of students who have completed their first year in the MSc program in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology.

The society acts as the voice for the department’s student body. Regular responsibilities include:

  • involvement in the Dalhousie Association of Graduate Studies (DAGS)
  • grant information sessions
  • event planning
  • fundraising
  • mentoring and orienting incoming students
  • representing all of the students who are currently enrolled in the program

The CHESS also exists to help students bond with other students in the program and cope with the stresses of graduate school life. Additionally, we are proud to say that with the growth of the program, we now have a presence in intramural sports at Dalhousie.
