Cancellation of Spring 2021 Convocation Ceremonies
The health and safety of our campus visitors and campus community is our highest priority, and it is vital we do our part to minimize the risks related to COVID-19. To this end, Dalhousie University has decided to cancel Spring Convocation ceremonies. We understand that this will be very disappointing to many, and we will look for ways to celebrate with graduates who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the future.
Convocation ceremonies are a time when we come together to celebrate the achievements of our graduates and welcome them to our global community of alumni. Although this formal, celebratory event has been cancelled, Dalhousie will make sure all students are awarded their degree/credential(s).
Senate will award degrees. Parchments, the legal document embossed with the graduate’s name and degree, will be sent to the address we have for graduates in DalOnline when available.
As details regarding future graduate celebrations unfold, we will communicate with spring graduates by email and update the information on this website (www.dal.ca/convocation).
