Fall Graduates

Message - Fall 2021

Completing a university degree is an important milestone, and it was our hope to gather in-person this fall 2021 to celebrate all that you’ve accomplished. However, I am sharing the news that our Dalhousie University Fall 2021 Convocation will be a virtual celebration.  What matters most is your health and well-being, as well as the health and well-being of your family and loved ones.

Please know that this decision was made after much deliberation and discussion. With the ongoing global fourth wave of COVID-19 and risks and restrictions related to travel, the ability of many of our grads and their families, friends and supporters to take part in Convocation would be significantly limited. In the interest of having a safe, comfortable and accessible celebratory experience for our graduates, we’ve elected to continue with a virtual celebration for Fall 2021. As was the case with graduates from previous virtual celebrations, you have my personal assurances that all graduates will be invited to join another in-person Dalhousie Convocation ceremony in the future, where graduates will have their moment crossing the Convocation stage.

Planning for our 2021 Virtual Convocation Celebration is underway, and we are looking at ways to offer opportunities for graduates to come to campus if they are able and collect their parchment should public health restrictions allow this in October. Further information will follow in the coming weeks from the Convocation Team.

We look forward to celebrating your achievements in the fall and welcoming you to our Alumni community.
