Invitation and Academic Dress Information

Each graduate will receive two guest invitations and graduates do not need an invitation for themselves in order to attend their ceremony. You will pick up invitations from the Gowns Room when you pick up your hood and gown the day before your ceremony is scheduled.

Additional invitations are not available through the Registrar's Office. Any returned or unused invitations for your ceremony will be available at the door to the Arts Centre or Langille Athletic Centre an hour before your ceremony begins on a first come, first served basis.

You will pick up your hood, gown, and guest invitations in the Gowns Room, which will be located in Room 1198 of the Marion McCain Building (6135 University Avenue) on the Halifax Campus. You should pick up your academic dress the day before your ceremony.

If you are attending the Faculty of Agriculture Convocation ceremony, you will pick up your academic dress at the Student Learning Commons in the MacRae Library (135 College Rd) the day of your ceremony.

The health and safety of our graduates, your guests, and our campus community is our utmost concern. Please know that The Convocation Team will be closely monitoring public health measures and protocols in the months and weeks leading to these tentative Convocation dates. We will follow all advice, guidance, and recommendations from public health officials regarding public events and will communicate any potential changes or cancellations should they become necessary.
