Graduate Recognition by Elders

The Elders in Residence will be present on stage during Convocation to show their support and pride in the accomplishment of Indigenous graduates. The Elders will gift each Indigenous graduate with a traditional medicine pouch hand made by the Elders themselves. If you would like to be recognized by the Elders, please identify yourself so we may celebrate your accomplishment by contacting Christina.coakley@dal.ca

Graduate Recognition by Black Student Advising Centre

The Black Student Advising Centre celebrates the achievements of all graduating black students of African descent and is pleased to announce that Kente sashes will be available at the Centre for graduates to borrow and wear during their ceremonies.  Contact the Black Student Advising Centre at bsac2@dal.ca or 494-6648 to borrow a sash.

Flowers are a wonderful way to say congratulations!  Flower bouquets will be available for sale at each ceremony and can be pre-ordered.

Dalhousie offers graduates the opportunity to have professional photographs taken during Convocation.  A professional photographer will take candid capping photographs from a position onstage as each graduate greets the Chancellor.

A link to the digital proof and photography package information will be available from LifeTouch shortly after Convocation.  Please touch base with LifeTouch to gain access to your proof. There is no obligation to make a purchase.

If you wish to NOT have your photograph taken while greeting the Chancellor, you must contact convocation@dal.ca at least one week prior to the ceremonies.

In addition, LifeTouch staff will set up a portrait studio for family or individual portraits during and following the ceremonies. You can book your session now through the Lifetouch website or by speaking with a LifeTouch staff member during graduate line-up.

Portrait session locations:
