We are excited to share details about how Dalhousie University will be celebrating you and your acheivement! Even though we are sadly unable to do so together in person, we’ve been working hard to ensure you have an opportunity to mark this important milestone and take pride in all you’ve achieved.
Here’s an overview of what you can expect. We ask that graduates continue to check their dal.ca email for the latest updates.
|Awarding of your degree by Senate||May 13||
Wednesday, May 13 is the day on which the Dalhousie Senate will meet and confer degrees — the day on which most of you will officially become Dalhousie graduates. Look for email confirmation and the posting of the full list of graduates on the Convocation website in the afternoon.
|Launch of the Class of 2020 graduation website||May 20||We’re setting up a special space for grads to share photos, videos and Dal memories, along with well-wishes from the broader Dal community. Look for a link in your email on Wednesday, May 20.
|Celebrations in Faculties/programs||May/June||
Many of our Faculties and programs will be having their own celebration events virtually. Details will be emailed to you.
|Arrival of your "Convocation in a Box"||June||We can’t welcome you to Convocation in person, so we’re bringing Convocation to you. Expect a special delivery later this spring with your parchment, a Convocation keepsake booklet and a few other surprises. A signature will be required when the package arrives!
We know many of our graduates will still want their chance to walk across the Convocation stage. We will be in touch at a later date with details of future ceremonies that you can choose to take part in.
