Parchment and Certificate Pickup
Parchments and certificates are held in the Registrar's Office for graduates who did not attend the ceremony and who requested in advance the option to pick up their parchments once all convocation ceremonies have concluded. Parchments are couriered to students who indicated their preference in advance to have their parchment sent to an address outside the HRM.
Graduates who owe more than $100 in outstanding fees to Dalhousie will not receive their parchment until the debt has been settled with Student Accounts. Once the debt has been settled, it is the graduate's responsibility to contact the Convocation Team to discuss delivery and pick up options.
Parchment Pick Up
Parchments and certificates are available for pick-up in the Registrar's Office (Henry Hicks Building, Room 125) during regular business hours, two business days after the final convocation ceremony in both Spring and Fall. Please be prepared to present government issued photo ID when picking up your parchment.
A friend or designate is welcome to pick up your parchment on your behalf if advance notice has been given, in writing, to the Registrar's Office. If you wish to have a designate pick up your parchment, please email email@example.com and include the name of the individual who will be picking up the parchment. We will only release your parchment with your written permission, and only to the person you have identified. Your designate must also present their photo ID when arriving to pick up your parchment.
Parchment Mail Out
Parchments will be mailed following the ceremonies, to those graduates who did not attend Convocation and who indicated they would like to have their parchment mailed to them. It is very important that you ensure your current address in DalOnline is accurate.
Dalhousie is happy to cover the cost of the initial mailing of your parchment. Subsequent mailing due to incorrect or incomplete addresses will be at the graduate's expense. Rates for second mailing are: $10 within Atlantic Canada, $20 for the rest of Canada and $100 outside of Canada.
Unclaimed parchments from past convocation ceremonies are kept in the Registrar's Office for a period of eight years.
