Great ideas are already being planned and worked on for our 200th—from ‘supersizing’ annual events like Homecoming and Open House, to introducing legacy projects, hosting global conferences, honoring diversity, celebrating our past and our future, and sharing our academic leadership in unexpected ways. We’ll update this page as activities develop. Here’s some of what’s underway now:

200th Anniversary Composition
The Fountain School of Performing Arts plans to unveil a new student-written composition, created in honor of the 200th anniversary. Expect to hear it first at 2018 convocations.
2018 will be marked by many special events that will extend through the entire year both on- and off-campus, including community activities, conferences, building openings, public talks and lectures.
This online video project, being organized by the Dalhousie Alumni Association, will collect videos from alumni around the world, demonstrating Dal’s impact far and wide.
A Pictorial History
The story of Dalhousie’s first 200 years, told in photos and images. This hard-cover book project is being led by Mona Holmlund, Assistant Professor of History, and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
Faculty of Medicine’s 150th
