Web Policy and Guidelines

The Web Policy and Guidelines outline the mission of the Dalhousie website and the principles by which it is managed. It deals with:

• The role of the web team
• Assignment of web addresses
• Design guidelines and requirements
• Writing for the web
• Distinction between public and internal web pages
• Duplication of university content
• Archival policies
• Blogs and personal pages

The document is a companion piece to both the university Web Style Guide and the Acceptable Use Policy.

The Web Policy and Guidelines have been approved by the university’s executive team for the next year, in conjunction with the rollout of the new web content management system and associated procedures. It will be up for review in Fall 2011.
