Certificates

Certificate in Gaming Leadership - NEW
This certificate provides a comprehensive overview of the skills and knowledge required for leaders in today’s casino and iGaming environments. The two required courses cover essential topics in casino and iGaming compliance, as well as strategies for promoting responsible gaming and developing player protection measures. Participants can then explore other topics of interest for those in the industry with a choice of two electives.

Certificate in Police Leadership 
This six-course certificate is offered fully online. It will help you develop a range of current, theory-based strategies and skills to lead effectively and successfully in high-pressure, high-stakes, publicly visible and rapidly evolving situations while holding true to your organization’s foundational principles. The certificate can be completed over several years, depending upon how many courses you take each term and year. The cost of the certificate varies according to the degree of interactivity and corresponding course hours. 

Certificate in Police Supervisory Skills
The certificate is offered fully online, with four required courses and a range of electives. It offers a wide range of courses to help you develop strategies and skills for managing people in the unpredictability of a high-pressure, high-stakes police work context. The certificate can be completed over several years, depending upon how many courses you take each term and year.

We offer a broad range of courses in specific aspects of police leadership. You can register for them individually or as part of a certificate.

Responsible Gaming and Player Protection - NEW
Explore diverse strategies for promoting responsible gaming, fostering player education and awareness, and developing robust player protection measures. This course is online and self-paced. Cost: $350.

Casino Gaming Investigations - NEW
This course will give police officers, regulators and compliance professionals the skills and knowledge to understand the legal casino and iGaming landscape in Canada, the key risks of money laundering and fraud among operators, the complexities of sports betting and matchfixing, and more. Cost: $1,045.

Evidence-Based Policing
Learn to use research evidence strategically to inform management and decision-making. This is a 12-week course. Cost: $1,045.

Leadership Dynamics (Replaces Police Leadership and Management Development)
Develop your leadership skills by examining the five practices of 'exemplary leadership' and explore the concept of credibility and its role in leadership and development of relationships. This is a 12-week course. Cost: $1,045.

Ethics in Action (Replaces Ethics for Police Leaders)
Examine how professional ethics apply to individuals and organizations and its role in leadership. This is a 12-week course. Cost: $1,045.

Global & Domestic Terrorism
Draw on the latest terrorism thinking and research from a variety of academic and other sources to develop a broad understanding of terrorism as a complex social phenomenon and a challenging domestic and global security problem. This is a 12-week course. Cost: $1,045.

Interpersonal and Intercultural Communication (Replaces Communication Skills for Police Personnel)
This 12-week course brings together the best theories and practices of communication between people in society. Cost: $1,045 .

Coaching Skills for Leaders (Replaces Managing Police Performance) 
Coaching is comprised of a set of skills and a series of steps that help others become better at their jobs. There are many leadership styles that experts cite and describe; this course specifically examines the coaching leadership style. This is a 12-week course. Cost: $1,045 .
