Work Assignment: INFO 6840 – Content Management Systems

The sessional instructor will teach the elective Content Management Systems course (INFO 6840) in the MLIS program during the 2016 Fall term. The course is scheduled for one 3 hour period per week, September – December 2016.

Requirements of the Position:

MLIS degree, employment experience in the area of Content Management Systems and prior teaching experience.

The instructor reports to the Director of the School. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Responsibility for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including lectures, active learning class sessions, assignment preparation and evaluation; availability for two hours per week for consultation with students. A syllabus for the course is available.

MLIS degree (or similar) and significant employment experience in research methods. Prior teaching or research experience in this area (or a similar area) would be an asset.

1. Work Assignment: MGMT 1601 – Electronic Information Management

The Sessional Instructor will teach the core Electronic Information Management course (MGMT 1601) in the Bachelor of Management Program during the 2017 winter term (January-April, 2017)

Requirements of the Position: Post-graduate degree and significant employment or research experience in electronic information management. Prior undergraduate-level teaching experience in this area (or a similar area) would be an asset.

2. Work Assignment: MGMT 2601 – Knowledge Management

The Sessional Instructor will teach the core Knowledge Management course (MGMT 2601) in the Bachelor of Management program during the 2016 fall term (September – December, 2015).

Requirements of the Position: Post-graduate degree and significant employment or research experience in Knowledge Management. Prior undergraduate-level teaching experience in this area (or a similar area) would be an asset.

3. Work Assignment: MGMT 3602 – Professional Communication Skills (F)

The Sessional Instructor will teach one section of the course “Professional Communication Skills” (MGMT 3602) in the Bachelor of Management Program during the 2016 fall term (September – December, 2016).

Requirements of the Position: Post-graduate degree and significant employment or research experience in professional communication. Prior undergraduate-level teaching experience in this area (or a similar area) would be an asset.

4. Work Assignment: MGMT 3602 – Professional Communication Skills (W)
The Sessional Instructor will teach one section of the course “Professional Communication Skills” (MGMT 3602) in the Bachelor of Management Program during the 2017 winter term (January-April, 2017).

Requirements of the Position: Post-graduate degree and significant employment or research experience in professional communication. Prior undergraduate-level teaching experience in this area (or a similar area) would be an asset.

5. Work Assignment: MGMT 3603 - Beyond Google
The Sessional Instructor will teach the online course Beyond Google (MGMT 3603) in the Bachelor of Management program during the 2017 winter term (January-April, 2017).

Requirements of the Position: Post-graduate degree and significant employment or research experience in information retrieval, sources and/or information literacy. Prior undergraduate-level teaching experience in these areas (or similar areas) would be an asset, particularly with online learning systems.
