From last Friday's Chronicle Herald:
The green roof isn’t quite green yet, but the paint has dried and students have moved into the newest residence at Dalhousie University.
LeMarchant Place, a new 165,000-square-foot building at the corner of South and LeMarchant streets, officially opened its doors on Thursday.
The seven-storey structure has 143 residential units, accommodates 326 students and also houses various student services, including an international centre, a health clinic and counselling offices.
“It’s marvellous, particularly the views of Wickwire Field,” said Dalhousie president Richard Florizone during the opening.
“For those of you who aren’t students, I’ll tell you, it’ll make you want to be a student again.
“The goal of the building is really about weaving together all the strands of Dal student experience to better support our students and make them more successful.”
