    Subject: Join us on Friday for our second Transportation and Parking Town Hall meeting

    Please join us on Friday (July 27th), from 11 am – 12 noon in Tupper Theatre B,  for our second Transportation and Parking Town Hall meeting.  
     
    If you can’t make it on Friday, other meetings are scheduled for:

    • Tuesday, July 31st, online session from 11 am – 12 noon. (You can bookmark the login information now - session opens to participants at 10 am on the 31st.
    • Wednesday, August 1st – Sexton Campus, D Building, Room 416, 12 noon – 1 pm

    Subject: Reminder! Calling all Dalplex members - we need your help!

    We are looking for adults, preferably aged 30+, to participate in a photo shoot in the Cardio Plus Centre this Friday from 9:30-11am. All shapes, sizes, fitness levels, etc welcome. Just wear your workout gear and sneakers and bring your smile!

    We will happily reward volunteers with a t-shirt and water bottle for their trouble, not to mention the chance for their faces to grace some Dalplex promotional materials!

    The Faculty of Graduate Studies wishes to announce that Mr. Donovan Parks, PhD candidate from the Faculty of Computer Science will be defending his thesis entitled “Georeferenced Trees and the Phylogenetic Similarity of Biological Communities" on Tuesday, July 31st, at 9:00 a.m. The defence will be held in Room 3107, The Mona Campbell Building, 1459 LeMarchant Street.

    The Faculty of Graduate Studies wishes to announce that Ms. Carol Fleischhaker, JSD candidate from the Faculty of Law will be defending her thesis entitled “Organized Crime Outlaws: An Evaluation of Criminal Organization Legislation in Canada" on Wednesday, August 1st, at 9:00 a.m. The defence will be held in Room 3107, The Mona Campbell Building, 1459 LeMarchant Street.

    The Faculty of Graduate Studies wishes to announce that Mr. James Rioux, PhD candidate from the Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science will be defending his thesis entitled “Quantitative Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Cellular Density with TurboSPI" on Wednesday, August 1st, at 9:00 a.m. The defence will be held in Room 430, Goldberg Computer Science Building, 6050 University Avenue.

    All PhD defences are open to the public and you are welcome to attend. Please note that seating may be limited.

  4. From: Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences
    Subject: Participants needed for Eye Study

    This research study concerns the use of an instrument for imaging the back of the eye and using these images to determine the normal range of several eye measurements.

    Participants will attend one testing session at the QEII Eye Care Centre (Victoria General site).  The session lasts approximately one and a half hours.  Peripheral vision testing will be performed as well as imaging of the eye, several eye measurements, and an examination by an ophthalmologist.

    You will be compensated for your participation in the study.
