Get to "Know Your Dal" this fall

A 13-week guided tour across campus

- September 3, 2015

Dalhousie is a community of more than 6,000 faculty and staff and 18,000-plus students, all with busy lives and schedules. Understandably, it can be difficult to know what's happening in other corners of the university — whether it’s on another campus, in another building or sometimes even across your own department or unit.

That’s where “Know Your Dal” comes in.

Know Your Dal, launching next Tuesday (September 8), will run for 13 weeks. During that time, each of Dal's 12 faculties and the College of Continuing Education will step into the spotlight for one week with a series of activities, online and offline:

  • Dal News stories, highlighting the lesser known side of our faculties
  • #KnowYourDal social media content
  • Video interviews with Dal’s Deans
  • Photo albums highlighting faculty, staff and students
  • Pop-up lectures on all four Dalhousie campuses

You can keep track of everything Know Your Dal-related at dal.ca/knowyourdal. You can also follow along with Today@Dal, the Dal News Weekly email digest and on social media (Dalhousie Facebook page, @dalnews).

"We're very excited to shine a light on the amazing work happening at Dal on a daily basis, and its impact beyond campus walls," says Catherine Bagnell Styles, assistant vice-president of Communications & Marketing. "This is a great opportunity for our campus community to learn more about the university they come to every day and recognize the work our people put into teaching, research and service."

Know Your Dal will run from Tuesday, September 8 through to Friday, December 4. View the schedule at dal.ca/knowyourdal and visit the site for daily updates starting next week.
