Whoever wins, everyone wins.

Well, okay, in the most literal sense it was the Bighorns who took home the cup in this year's Residence Charity Faceoff, held on Saturday March 9 at the Halifax Forum. The team, comprised of players who live in Risley Hall, Shirreff Hall, Eliza Ritchie Hall and Glengary Apartments, prevailed in a thrilling game against the Trojans team, with players from Howe Hall, Gerard Hall, O'Brien Hall and Mini-Res. The game went all the way to a shoot-out with the Bighorns pulling out the 7-6 win.

But there was more than residence pride at stake. For weeks before the game, students were raising funds for the IWK Health Centre. There were candygram sales, Super Bowl parties, player auctions and even a "Pie in the Face" week.

At the end of the game, players and Res Life staff presented a cheque for $16,000 to the IWK Health Centre, bringing to total raised through the Charity Faceoff over the past eight years to a stunning $125,000.

Here are some of the photo highlights of the game, by photographer Alexandra Seglins.
