Dalhousie University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 28, 2012.

Holly Van Gestel, Cross Country

At the Subway AUS Cross Country Championship last Saturday fifth-year Holly Van Gestel finished second in the 5k with a time of 18:04, leading the Tigers to a second place overall team finish. She was named an AUS All-Star for her accomplishment. Van Gestel is a kinesiology student and hails from Antigonish, N.S.

Matt McNeil, Cross Country

In an incredible performance at the Subway AUS Cross Country Championship on Saturday, second-year Matt McNeil ran a personal best time of 32:24 on the 10k course at Point Pleasant Park. His second place finish earned AUS All-Star honours and led the Tigers team to a second place finish overall. Originally from Saint John, N.B., McNeil is an engineering student at Dalhousie.
