Saturday, Oct. 1 was Community Day in Dal's residences - a chance for students to head out into the community and volunteer some time with local organizations making a difference in Halifax. One group of students headed to the Halifax North Memorial Public Library to design murals for children to get them excited about reading. The other group worked at making materials for the Youth Project,a non-profit organization that provides support and services to youth around issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. Student photographer Martina Marien dropped in on the sessions to capture the contributions.
