Imhotep’s Legacy Academy (ILA) is an academic enrichment program, affiliated with Dalhousie University, which aims to increase the representation of African Canadians in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) professions. ILA programming is offered to students at three levels of their education:

FIRST LEGO League

Junior high school students design and program robots for competitions in teams.

After School Program

Junior high school students participate in science and math activities as well as field trips.

Virtual School Program

Online tutoring and interactive STEM experiences for high school students.

ILA Coding Program

Junior High and High School Students learn coding in HTML, VBA, and Arduino.

Encouraging Vaccine Confidence

Students explore hands-on science and engineering activities.

Engaging African Nova Scotian Youth (EANSY) in Agriculture & Community Food Security

A youth-led community garden and greenhouse that will contribute to community food security

Summer Research & Internships
