Ian McAllister publishes a new book

Posted by Economics on May 30, 2016 in News

Ian McAllister's latest book, Projects In Search of Relief with Development, has just been published (Linus Learning Publishers, New York, June 1st, 2016).

Designed for practitioners in non-governmental organizations, government relief and development agencies, as well as the business sector - it should also be of relevance to students in a variety of university programs - ranging from political science and economics to development studies and public administration, from business management to emergency public health.

While drawing together a cross-section of frameworks and approaches to project planning and managment in contexts of disaster relief, peace-building and development - it includes candid critiques of project aid and assessment experiences in cases that range from Newfoundland to Bangladesh, Nova Scotia, and Ghana, from Ethiopia to the U.S., Somalia, and Nepal, from project appraisal processes experiences from the Canadian Treasury Board, the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

As an added feature, it includes a training manual that provides a framework for workshops on the broad themes of the book - of potential value for university institutes and professional training courses alike.
