MLIS Alumna, Sara Gillis, Awarded the CLA Alan MacDonald Mentorship Award

Sara Gillis (MLIS ’94) is the 2016 recipient of the Canadian Library Association (CLA) Alan MacDonald Mentorship Award. This award “recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to mentoring activities either within their workplace or in an association and is generously sponsored by EBSCOYPB.”

Sara has mentored many of our students over the years in her capaciy as Community Engagement Manager at Halifax Public Libraries. She also currently moderates the CLA Community-Led Library Service Network.

This award is named after Alan MacDonald, who was a natural mentor in the libraries field, and will be presented at the opening ceremonies of the CLA National Forum on June 1st.
