Sara Gillis (MLIS ’94) is the 2016 recipient of the Canadian Library Association (CLA) Alan MacDonald Mentorship Award. This award “recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to mentoring activities either within their workplace or in an association and is generously sponsored by EBSCO/ YPB.”
Sara has mentored many of our students over the years in her capaciy as Community Engagement Manager at Halifax Public Libraries. She also currently moderates the CLA Community-Led Library Service Network.
This award is named after Alan MacDonald, who was a natural mentor in the libraries field, and will be presented at the opening ceremonies of the CLA National Forum on June 1st.
