Peer Partnership Program

“Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction.” - John Crosby

Peer Partnership Program

To aid in the transition into university life, the Peer Partnership Program pairs first-year BComm and BMgmt students with upper-year peers who have had similar experiences. These mentors can help with anything from course selection to volunteer and engagement opportunities or even where to live after residence.

The Program

Whether you are from a different country, province or from just around the corner, the transition to university life is a challenge for everyone. Suddenly finding yourself sitting with 250 strangers in a classroom unsure of where your next class is and trying to make new friends is a lot to handle. Adjusting to your new life will be tough; however, there are people here to help make it easier. Peer Mentors are students who were just like you – new to the campus, overwhelmed and probably wondering how everybody seems to do it all so successfully. The good news is that they got through, and so will you!

The Mentors

Peer Mentors are upper-level students in the Commerce and Management programs. They have taken the classes you now find yourself in, moved from every corner of the globe to come to Dalhousie and are eager to help you adjust to university life. While they will not do your homework, they will know where to go to get the extra help you may need. A Peer Mentor will be a friendly face and an indispensable resource.
