Faculty Practice Dental Clinic

Our Faculty Practice Clinic is accepting new patients and referrals. Located at Dalhousie's Faculty of Dentistry, our clinic is made up of a group of full-time teaching faculty members who provide a range of general and prosthodontic dental services, including:

  • Examinations and consultations
  • Cleanings
  • General dentistry
  • Cosmetic dentistry
  • Dental implants 
  • Crowns and bridges
  • Dentures and partial dentures
  • Dental extractions and surgery

Meet our Faculty Practice Clinic staff

Dr. Chris Lee

After graduating from Dalhousie's Faculty of Dentistry in 2004, Dr. Lee completed a general practice residency program at the Vancouver General Hospital and British Columbia Cancer Agency. Dr. Lee settled in his hometown of Ottawa in 2005 where he practised general and family dentistry for several years. In 2009, he jumped at the chance to return to Dalhousie and teach. Outside the office, he satisfies his love of the outdoors by hiking and camping with his family. Dr. Lee is happy to treat patients of all ages with any dental issue.

Dr. Ferne Kraglund

Dr. Ferne Kraglund is full-time faculty member and assistant dean of Student Affairs in the Faculty of Dentistry. After graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie University in 2004, she returned home to Saint John, New Brunswick to practise general dentistry. Three years later, Dr. Kraglund returned to school to complete her master's degree and specialty in dental public health at the University of Toronto. She returned to Dalhousie in 2009 to teach full-time. Dr. Kraglund works as a general dentist and treats patients one day a week at the Faculty Practice Clinic, with a focus on prevention. Outside the office, she enjoys hiking, yoga, reading, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Pierre-Luc Michaud

Dr. Pierre-Luc Michaud, DMD, MSc, FRCD(C) is a Canadian board certified specialist in prosthodontics. He received his dental degree from Université de Montréal in 2007. After graduation, he joined the general practice residency program at the University of Toronto. In 2009, he returned to Université de Montréal to complete a specialty residency in prosthodontics.

Dr. Michaud was a part-time clinical instructor in prosthodontics from 2009 to 2012 at the Université de Montréal and the University of British Columbia. He joined Dalhousie University's Faculty of Dentistry in late 2012 as an assistant professor of prosthodontics.

Dr. Michaud is currently the course director for the Prosthodontics 4 course at Dalhousie University. His research interests include biomaterials and surface bonding. He's also a fellow and examiner of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in prosthodontics and a reviewer for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry.

During his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and kiteboarding at Lawrencetown Beach.

Dr. Richard Price

Dr. Price received his master's degree in fixed prosthodontics from the University of Michigan in 1984. Soon thereafter, he moved to Halifax where he has been a teacher and an active researcher for the the past 30 years. In 1991, he spent a year in Sweden studying implant prosthodontics and in 2001, he was awarded his Doctorate in Dental Materials from the University of Malmo, Sweden. He spends one day a week treating patients at the Faculty Practice Clinic where he concentrates mainly on dental implant prosthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and fixed prosthodontics.
