David Beitelman

PhD Candidate

79603 version 4

I was born in Toronto and raised in the suburbs just north of the city.  After high school, I moved to London, Ontario to pursue a diploma in Multi-Media Design and Production at Fanshawe College. After graduating two years later, I decided to go in a different direction and enrolled at the University of Western Ontario, where I graduated with an honors specialization in political science and a major in American Studies.  I stayed at Western to pursue graduate studies, earning a Masters in political science (international relations) and the following year a Masters in American Studies (Canada-US relations). I then moved east to begin doctoral work at Dalhousie, where I work under the supervision of Brian Bow. As a Doctoral Fellow with the Centre of Foreign Policy Studies, I organized the 7th Annual Graduate Symposium (with Jean-François Bélanger), and served as Deputy Director of the Centre from September 2013 - August 2014.

In my ‘spare time’ I enjoy playing the guitar, skiing, and watching movies.
